Neighborhood Police Officer
All Middleton neighborhoods have an assigned police officer. Officers are assigned specific neighborhoods to which they give special attention and services as the Neighborhood Officer, to the extent that activity levels permit. Citizens who need urgent or routine police services, should not seek to contact specific Neighborhood Officers, but should contact the Police Department directly (9-1-1 for emergencies and 827-1000 for other matters). However, on-going non-urgent neighborhood problems are appropriately referred to the Neighborhood Officer.
Neighborhood Officers are expected to know what is happening, who the people, elected officials, businesses, organizations and bad actors are, and to provide special attention and services. Neighborhood Officers strive to open communications, build trust, exchange information, and collaborate in problem solving. The objectives of the Neighborhood Officers go beyond crime control to include objectives of fear reduction, order maintenance, problem solving, and the quality of life in the neighborhood. Neighborhood Officers are the "go to" person for the neighborhood, police department and City when it comes to on-going neighborhood problems. The residents of the neighborhood also have a duty to be involved as partners in the task of policing and problem solving in their neighborhood.
Northlake Neighborhood's officer is Rich O'Connor. Officer O'Connor works a six day on three day off schedule on the AM Shift and can be contacted through the police dispatcher (827-1000).
