Northlake Neighborhood Association
Volunteer Committees
Based on the input received at the November meeting, the Directors
have established six new committees to address neighborhood needs
and obligations. Neighbor involvement in these committees will ensure
an active and strong community.
Committee Descriptions
Annual Meeting Committee
-- Kelly Stelzer Chairperson
Each year we will hold an annual meeting for the neighborhood as
required by the Declaration of Covenants. The primary purpose of
the meeting will be to elect new board members and cover neighborhood
business. Join the Annual Meeting Committee if you would like to
help organize this important event.
Communications Committee
-- Tyler Gill Chairperson
This committee is for you if you want to get the word out to your
neighbors. We're also looking for
volunteers with graphic design or database talents. Some primary communication
vehicles will be this website, letters, flyers and signs. The
Communications
Committee will also organize and coordinate the
Northlake Newscasters to
distribute information throughout the neighborhood. In addition, we will consider
creating and distributing a neighborhood directory.
Finance Committee
-- Kelly Stelzer Chairperson
Join the Finance Committee if you would like to assist the Treasurer
in bidding jobs and awarding contracts, collecting dues, and preparing
the annual budget for the Association and its committees. The Treasurer
will be the chairperson for this committee.
Neighborhood Maintenance Committee
-- Chairperson
(formerly the Landscaping Committee)
We are looking for committee volunteers to help with maintenance
items around the neighborhood. Examples include:
- Annual contracting with lawn care companies for neighborhood
greenspaces
- Contracting for tree maintenance for the trees along Hwy Q and
other neighborhood greenspaces
- Coordinating the efforts of the Landscaping Sub-Committee
- Replacing lightbulbs at the Northlake Neighborhood entrance
sign when necessary
Volunteer for this new committee by signing
up now or contacting the Board of
Directors.
Landscaping responsibilities are now part of this newly formed committee.
Additional volunteers are needed to lend talent to helping design
and/or maintaining the neighborhood flower beds. This includes pruning
perennials, planting annual flowers, laying mulch and weeding the
planted areas. We will be active primarily from early May through
late September.
Safety Committee
-- Dale Judd Chairperson
This committee will investigate and potentially report neighborhood
safety issues online, research and start a Neighborhood Watch/Child
Safety program, post safety signs throughout the neighborhood, ie
Children at Play, High Water, develop and distribute a safety questionnaire
to the neighborhood. More volunteers are
needed to make these goals a reality.
Social Committee
-- Chairperson
The better we know our neighbors the stronger and safer our community
will be. The Social Committee will propose and
plan neighborhood social gatherings. Another important responsibility will be to create
and maintain a Welcome Committee for new neighbors.
