for the impending vacancies on this committee will be considered at the November NNA
Meeting.
Pool/Fence issue:
Nahn distributed a draft copy of guidelines for installation of fences/pools. The final
guidelines will be published at a later date after thorough review by the Board of
Directors.
Covenant Review Task Force:
The BOD reiterated the call for volunteers to serve on the task force for review of the
Covenants. At the time of the meeting only one person was known to have volunteered.
Those NNA members that are interested in serving on this Task Force were again encouraged
to submit their names to the Secretary of the NNA BOD. The slate of volunteers will be
announced at the November NNA Meeting.
New Business - Committee Reports
Finance Committee:
Three property owners had not yet paid their 2005 dues. The Treasurer was encouraged
to vigorously pursue those in default.
Safety Committee:
Nahn was encouraged to solicit cost estimates for finishing the Drainage Work along
Teal Court.
Communications Committee:
It was duly noted that the Neighborhood mailing list needs to be updated. The
Treasurer would work with UPS to update the mailing list
Maintenance Committee:
There was a discussion about upkeep of sidewalks along out lot spaces. Estimates of
the cost of maintaining these areas will be solicited.
There was also a discussion about use of the neighborhood green space. One or two
neighbors felt that people should be encouraged to use the recreation spaces in Orchid
Heights Park as a matter of first choice. However, the BOD did not take any formal
position on this matter. One BOD member suggested that when people desire to use the
neighborhood green space for occasional events, such as wedding or graduation parties,
they should notify the Board in advance. Northlake residents who use the green space
for everyday recreational activities such as soccer, baseball, kite-flying etc are
urged to remove their equipment (baseball nets, soccer goals etc) at the end of the
day. The green spaces are to be kept in neat condition, free of clutter and/or trash.
The meeting adjourned at 8:45 PM.
