Minutes of the Meeting of the Board of Directors

Wackerle called the meeting to order at 6:49 p.m.
Welcome
Wackerle began by welcoming everyone and introducing the Board members.
Candidate Forum
Wackerle asked for candidates for the two open Board positions. Ken
Player nominated himself for a position. At this time, Leone, Halberslaben
and Kalshoven provided a brief description of their positions on the
Board. Wackerle followed by remarking on the need for volunteers. Annette
Plante-Hogoboom, Arlene Shaheen and Reenie Bickel nominated themselves
for the Board positions. It was noted that each of the available positions
is for a three-year term.
Nahn commented on the installation of traffic signs in the neighborhood
and the Teal Court drainage issue and the improvements that have been
made.
Wackerle summarized a short list of the past year’s accomplishments.
They are as follows: dues were maintained at $100.00 for the ninth
consecutive year; the Budget was refined; overall Board procedures
continued to be refined; several social activities took place (Fourth
of July parade and picnic, softball tournament, Easter egg hunt, Halloween
parade and gathering); drainage, landscaping and neighborhood maintenance
issues were addressed; and, Tanya Buchanan continued to maintain the
web site. Kalshoven thanked Buchanan for her volunteer work on the
web site. Discussion ensued regarding the web site and providing email
addresses in order to receive neighborhood email messages.
Membership Vote for Directors
Wackerle suggested that the voting commence. Ken Player, Annette Plante-Hogoboom
and Reenie Bickel presented themselves as candidates for the position
of Board member. Arlene Shaheen withdrew herself as a candidate for
a Board position and indicated that she would be interested in volunteering
in any other capacity.
Voting began.
Tabulate Results/Announce Results
As the votes were being counted, Kalshoven presented the financial
report. He discussed regular expenses as well as the reserve fund.
Discussion ensued regarding the interpretation of the By Laws and check-signing/dual-signature
requirement.
Frank Korosec thanked all three neighbors who ran for Board positions.
Plante-Hogoboom thanked the members of the existing Board for their
service. Wackerle announced that Annette Plante-Hogoboom and Ken Player
were elected to serve on the Northlake Neighborhood Board of Directors.
Other
Tanya Buchanan listed the neighborhood committees and indicated that
volunteers are needed in order for these committees to continue.
Plante-Hogoboom announced that the neighborhood directories should
be available by January.
Kitty Erdman announced that the bench that was purchased in memory
of Jim Beyer has been installed.
Halberslaben moved to adjourn the meeting. Kalshoven seconded. The
meeting was adjourned at 8:06 p.m.
