Committee Updates
Landscape Committee:
Beth Korosec reported on the first meeting of the Landscaping Committee.
She indicated that Kathy Wackerle was selected as the committee
chairperson. The Committee determined their area of responsibility
to be maintaining the neighborhood planting beds on Indigo Way,
in Iris Court and in Monarch Court. The next meeting of the Committee
is April 30. The Landscaping Committee suggested the following long-term
projects for the neighborhood: Develop a "permanent" path from the
neighborhood to the Conservancy. Provide signage at the entrance
to the neighborhood on Heron Trail.
Communications Committee:
Ann Geocaris provided a report on the responses received, by the
Communications Committee, from the survey distributed. She also
indicated that the Committee would like to develop "newscasters" (in
lieu of block captains) throughout the neighborhood. Tanya Buchanan
provided a web site update. She indicated that the number of hits
the web site is receiving is steadily increasing.
Social Committee:
Lynn Schreibman, representing the Social Committee, began by thanking
the Communications Committee for distributing information about
the Easter Egg Hunt. She continued by reporting on the first meeting
of the Social Committee where the members discussed creating a calendar
of events, introducing a Fourth of July picnic and establishing
a Welcoming Committee. Discussion ensued regarding a neighborhood
sponsored social event (such as a Fourth of July picnic).
Safety Committee:
Chuck Nahn reported that the Safety Committee is looking at the
traffic situation in the neighborhood and the possible need for
speed bumps and/or stop signs. The Committee has also discussed
the possibility of posting signs near areas with drainage issues,
the idea of "Safe Houses" throughout the neighborhood and providing
a "safety event" at the Fourth of July picnic.
